Often times after subscription to a data package, our mobile
telecommunications networks have created a system of automatic renewal
of the activated data bundle to the disadvantage of the subscriber.
This means that, on exhaustion or expiration of the said data package,
the system ransacks your account and deducts the needed amount, thereby
re-subscribing you... That's if your account balance is not empty, and the scam-feeling does not need to be penned down.
MTN: send STOPDATA to 131.
GLOBACOM: send CANCEL to 127 or
alternatively using your web browser, go to http://hsi.glo.com/HSISelfCarePortal/ and toggle between the "cancel renew" "renew" button. It's free.

AIRTEL: send STOPAUTORENEW to 440.
ETISALAT: send STOP to 229.
Remember, all codes will be sent as SMS and in BLOCK letters.
